ABOUT
Moyo Camp consists of 2 air-conditioned Chalets with en-suite bathrooms (consisting of a bath and shower) as well as a Safari Tent with an en-suite bathroom (consisting of a shower only), in total the Moyo Camp can accommodate 8 adults and 6 children under the age of 12. The Chalets and Safari Tent are each supplied with bath towels, bedding, bar fridges and coffee stations. At the camp there is a Lapa as well as a Boma with a fully equipped kitchen for those who wish to cater for themselves. Moyo Camp also has a swimming pool where one can relax after a morning’s hunt. (Please note that Swimming towels are not provided).
Moyo Hunting Safaris is based in the Thabazimbi Bushveld area, a well known hunting Mecca in the Limpopo Province of South Africa, only 3 hours drive from Johannesburg International Airport. Moyo, a Shona word meaning “Heart”, will through our personal care and attention ensure that your hunting experience will be an experience of a lifetime.
Moyo Hunting Safaris is a registered Hunting Outfitter and conduct hunting safaris in South Africa, Tanzania, Mozambique and Zimbabwe.
Moyo Hunting Safaris is specializing in breeding of endangered antelope and other attractive species. These include Sable, Golden Wildebeest, Coffee Springbuck, Saddleback Impala and Black Impala.
Moyo Hunting Safaris is operated by Edwin and Tinette Malan, which have been involved in hunting for the past 28 years. Our passion for the industry and wildlife can been seen and experience through our service and friendship. You will arrive at Moyo as a stranger, but leave as a friend!
All staff is dedicated, well qualified and experienced, who share’s Edwin and Tinette’s passion for nature, hunting, game breeding and who strive to live up to the company’s motto “The difference between good and excellent is an infinite capacity for detail”.
Daily Rates include
Accommodation, Bedding, Bath Towels, Coffee Station in the rooms as well as by the Lapa, Bar Fridge in Chalets and Safari Tent, Hunting Vehicle, Services of a Professional Hunter, Trackers, Skinning of animals, Salt and Cold Room facilities, 2 Bundles of wood per day and a pot of “Mealie Pap” will also be made by our staff each day for you to enjoy.

Hunting Season:
The hunting season from May to August.
Weapons and Ammo:
We recommend you to bring a .30 caliber weapon for all plains game. For thick-skinned dangerous game like Buffalo and Elephant a .375. However we recommend something in the .416 caliber provided the client can handle the weapon adequately. For a single weapon all round Safari a good scoped .375 should be adequate.

Clothing:
Lightweight but protective clothing is recommended, green or khaki being the most suitable colours. Trousers or shorts are usually worn with a loose fitting shirt. Comfortable footwear is essential (something similar to desert boots), as are a wide brimmed hat and sunglasses, also a wool sweater or jacket for the evening and early mornings. Clients might like to bring a set of clothes for evenings in the camp. However, we recommend that luggage be kept to a minimum if a charter flight is necessary due to the weight restrictions on the light aircraft.

Each Camp is complete with a cell phone in case of an emergency.
PLEASE NOTE - * TWO Impala Females need to be shot for each Impala Male that is shot.
** Animals need to be confirmed prior to hunt, prices may differ.
Animals that are not listed on the price list may NOT be hunted under any circumstances.
Important Information:
- A deposit will secure your booking; the deposit is calculated according to the full value of the minimum camp rate per night or per person per night whichever one is the highest.
- Refunds: 50 % of the deposit will be refunded only if a written cancellation is received 30 days prior to the booking date and therefore no refund will be paid if a cancellation is received within 30 days of booking date.
- Moyo works on a strict yearly quota to ensure quality and availability. The quota is allocated on a first come first serve basis. However, one can secure a specie by paying a 50% deposit from the specie price given above to ensure the availability. This deposit is refundable if the specie is not shot by the hunter.
- All Hunters pay the full hunting tariff for the duration of their stay.
- The full daily tariff is charged for all persons.
- PLEASE NOTE - All accounts are to be settled upon departure, Cash, EFT or Card is accepted at Moyo (3.5% surcharge will be applicable on all card payments)
- Check in time: 14:00; Check out time: 9:00. (Exceptions can be arranged)
- All information/contact numbers can be found in the information booklet situated in all of the rooms.
- Guests need to report directly to the Moyo Camp on arrival. An indemnity form will be provided, whereas the Guest needs to sign before any activity can commence.
- Moyo will only accommodate ONE Hunting Group per stay.
- Only MTN and Cell C reception is available at Moyo Camp.
General Rules and Regulations:
Please bring these rules to the notice of your group. These rules are designed to protect you and The Wilderness and to maintain the facilities for your pleasure.
- No rifles/bows are allowed to be fired within 500 meters of camp, 200 meters from a water point, 200 meters from a vehicle and 200 meters from a bow blind.
- No Hunter will be allowed to hunt if they are under the influence of alcohol. The decision will remain under the discretion of Management.
- All hunting is done on foot, no hunting from a vehicle is allowed. (This includes Rifles and Bows)
- Strictly only Bow Hunters will be allowed to hunt from blinds.
- No Hunting is allowed without a tracker.
- No Hunting is allowed on Sundays.
- No Hunting on the day of departure.
- All animals that are wounded are payable at Full Tariffs, Trophy Fees are applicable to all male species. (Blood or no blood, it will stay at the discretion of the PH)
- Sub-adult animals are payable at full tariffs.
- Moyo’s Shooting Range is situated at the gate; all rifles need to be sighted before any hunting.
- A minimum caliber of .243 is allowed for hunting.
- The minimum draw weight for a bow is 50 pounds.
- Please ensure all of your weapons are safe at all times.
- Air rifles, catapults, motorcycles, loud music and pets are not allowed on the reserve.
- Do not remove or damage any plants, wood or equipment in our reserve.
- Strictly NO littering is permitted, a fine of R1 000.00 will be issued immediately.
(This includes cigarette butts)
- The supply of liquor to our staff is strictly forbidden.
- Smoking and Fires: Smoking is only permitted in the Lapa and designated camp surroundings. NO smoking is allowed in the Chalets or Safari Tent. Please use ashtrays provided to dispose of ALL cigarette butts. Fires may only be made by our Moyo Staff, and in the strictly designated areas.
- It is strictly prohibited that no vehicles may drive around the reserve without a Moyo Guide/Tracker at all times.
- Lounge furniture, pool mattresses, bedding, coverlets, etc. are not permitted around the fire and may not be used outside of the Moyo Camp.
- Please report any defects noticed in Moyo Camp as soon as possible for Moyo Staff to ensure that it is rectified for your convenience.
- Speed limit on the reserve is strictly a maximum of 30 km/hour. Stay on the main road on your way to the camp.
